United States was born on July 4, 1776 and on January 4th, 2011 we will have a solar eclipse 180 degrees from that point, or 13 degrees of Capricorn. On one side will be Pluto and on the other side will be Mars...all in Capricorn, which is the 8th house for the United States. It looks like the year will begin on a sour note with swords rattling from our opponents.
Neptune is still in the 10th house of 'career' or zenith of the chart, where it went over the moon, which represents the populace and real estate, and caused the foreclosure issues. Even tho it's moved on, it'll be in the 10th for at least 10 years and counting, so we'll be dealing with this instability in real estate for sometime, even tho it won't be to the extent we've seen. Neptune rules oil, too, so that is our main focus...how to deal with oil and the people who provide it.
Not that there is ever a dearth of sex scandals, but this year shall be particularly notable for hiddenvices coming to light. Guido Bonatti writes that Saturn in Libra oriental (as it is in this horoscope)shows the “desire of shameful, criminal men.” In the natal U.S. horoscope, Saturn is occidental,bringing “infamy…upon fornicators, and those abusing shameful sexual intercourse.” These arechallenging configurations for public figures, so expect to see lots of public shaming in 2011.
An analysis of what lies before the US in this year immediately raises the question as to what have we just come through. After all, the experience of any entity cannot be neatly divided up by our notion of when a year begins and ends. Moreover, as many of you know, the alignments in a chart may be in effect for much longer than one year as well. So, before we begin to look ahead we must look back. What have we just come through? What were we being asked as a nation to address? And, yes, what can we expect in the year ahead?
2011 will not be an easy year for the U.S. President; there will be lots of contentions between him andhis opponents. He might face health challenges as well this year. With the malefic South Node on themidheaven, and the ruler of the 10th house of kings being the Moon conjunct Saturn, we can see thathe might have a number of things on his mind, namely people who rise up against him. There could besignificant protests this year against his policies, for example.
In June it's the first hit of his Chiron return. Chiron has a very irregular orbit, but it gets back to the return at 50. His natal Chiron is at 5 of Pisces in the 1st house of self. Chiron is the wounding; the one that gets the scab pulled off over and over til the answer is found.
The President has had a couple of rough years. Who would want to be president anyway, under present day politics? But it looks like the president, and the country have some better days coming....at least those that are more copable anyway.
